Soprano's Dam Sire: Contender
Sire of Soprano: Sandro Hit
Sandro Hit,  the legendary 1999 World Young
Horse Champion and Bundeschampianate, passes on
to his progeny the genes of numerous influential
stallions. SANDRO HIT’s sire, SANDRO SONG, a
double graded champion in Oldenburg, is by SANDRO,
an international show jumper who won the Danish
Derby ridden by Franke Sloothaak. WELT AS, in
SANDRO HIT’s third generation, is famous for siring
Anke Van Grunsven’s Olympic Dressage Champion
Bonfire and many other top horses.
Contender won the 1987 Adelheidsdorf stallion performance
test with a jumping index of 146.62. He went on to be the 1-b main
premium vice-champion in Oldenburg on the basis of his excellent
first crop of foals.He is now one of the most sought after stallions
in Germany today. He has produced 80 approved sons, and 59
state premium mares including Riconda who won the Elite Mare
Show at Rastede in 1993. As of 2006, in Holstein, Oldenburg,
Hannover and Rhineland, Contender has produced 782 registered
mares, 498 successful offspring in the sport.  
Contender spent his
first three years at stud in Oldenburg before moving to Holstein. An
impressive number of his first foals went on to international
careers: Niko (Geoff Billington). Copa d’Oro (Yves Houtackers) and
Maria Callas (Ben Schröder);Herbert Blöcker’s eventer, Chicoletto.
Contender sons include: Cantos (KWPN, damsire, Goodtimes),
Koriander (Moltke I), Canabis Z (Silvester), Chellano Z (Cor de la
Bryère), and Oldenburg performance test champion, Contango
(exported to the USA), Continue, Caius, Clinton, Calvador, Camiros
(1994 approval winner), Concerto I and II, Coleo and Concetto.
TIN ROCCO, who won ten conformation tests as a three year old
and competed in Grand Prix jumping winning the Preis Von
Blankenesse in Hamburg/Klein Flottbek (Derby Show). Of TIN
ROCO’s approved sons, Traumtänzer won the stallion
performance test in the USA and Torero was his best winning
dressage horse in 1990. His highly awarded St. Pr. daughter
Gutena represented him successfully at the German show in
Verden in 1990. His son Tie Break was in the finals of the 1988
German Show Jumping Championships and in 1990, he won a
test at the German event horse championships. In the 1990 FN
breeding statistics TIN ROCCO leads as the most successful sire
of event horses of his age group.

TIN ROCCO’S sire, TIN ROD XX, was an English TB of large
frame and excellent movement. He produced approved stallions
and very valuable mares including the dam of Landlord (Olympic
horse 1988) and Lausbub (international show jumper).

RAMINO
Ramino was the winner of the 1983 stallion
performance test in Adelheidsdorf. He was the
second Reserve Champion at the Oldenburg Main
Premium. In 1987, with Melanie Kötter, he helped
secure team gold medal at the European
Championships for juniors in jumping. The years
1989-1995, with Loris Pujatti, he was five-time Italian
Champion. Ramino has won many firsts and high
placings in Nation's Prizes and Grand Prix. His sire,
Ramiro, was a legendary sire and jumper, and his
dam, Dombuche, was a successful show jumper.
Ramino was her third approved son in a row.
SANDRO
Sandro was exported to Denmark as a young horse
to stand at stud. In 1985 he returned to Germany and
won over 50,000 DM in prize money in advanced level
show jumping ridden by Franke Sloothaak (with
winnings of over 30,000 DM internationally).

Sandro is a prolific stallion producer, to date having
presented 16 graded and approved stallions including
Sandro Song the champion young Stallion of Oldenburg
l990 and main premium of 1992. A remarkable feature of
his sons is that they consistently gain good results at the
stallion performance tests.  In 1992 eight progeny
qualified for the Federal Championships in Verden,
several of whom were placed in the finals (Sandon, Sir
Max, Sancerre, Sadenio, Salido). In the FN Yearbook
Breeding of 1992 he is placed third of his age class as a
sire of Show Jumpers. He also produced the great
stallion
Sandro Hit .
CALYPSO II
SANDRO'S SONG
SANDRO'S SONG, a double graded
champion in Oldenburg, is by SANDRO, an
international show jumper who won the Danish

siring Anke Van Grunsven’s Olympic Dressage

CALYPSO II has been one of the most important sires in both
Holstein and Hannover where he bred international competitors, and
influential breeding stallions.It was Calypso II who introduced the Cor
de la Bryère blood to Hannover, ushering a new era of Hannoverian
jumping breeding.
RAMIRO
RAMIRO's performance as a sporthorse and breeding
sire was second to none and earned him the title of
'Stallion of the Century' and 'King of Sires.'  One of
Ramiro's most famous daughters was Ratina Z who
won double Olympic Gold Medals and the World Cup of
1993 amongst a host of other prestigious
championships.
COR DE LA BRYERE  was also the sire of Corlandus, a World Cup
Dressage Champion in 1989, and his sons Calypso I and Calypso II have proven
a useful sire of dressage horses. Former German Olympic team member,
Chacomo ridden by Alexandra Simons de Ridder was by Calypso I, as was
Alexandra’s other FEI star, Champus.
